Known Issues
For backup/media set type, Disk (on local Linux volume or mounted network share) and Cloud are supported. Tape, File and Optical are not supported.
Network share mounted on Linux can host backup/media set. But network share is not supported for Duplicate/Copy and not supported as source for Backup.
To use a local Linux volume as source or destination, you can install the Linux Client and use it to access Linux volume.
Management Console is currently not supported.
Adding Client via multicast or subset broadcast is currently not supported. You can use “Add Source Directly“ and specify the Client’s IP address.
Retrospect Console defaults to Mac paths. When creating backup/media set, change the Catalog location to /etc/Retrospect/Catalogs or a folder that you have created on the Engine system.
Using Retrospect Console to create new folder (for catalog or backup set member) on the Engine system is currently not supported. You can create the folder directly on the Engine system.
Retrospect Console's File > Import and Export menu commands do not support remote server/engine, such as Retrospect Linux Engine.
Importing of Macintosh or Windows catalog files from Media Sets>Add is not supported. You must perform a catalog rebuild from Media Sets>Rebuild before using a Macintosh or Windows media set with the Linux engine.
