# Tape drive is not displayed correctly in Retrospect 7.7 (Windows)

Resources

Disable persistent binding via the computer’s registry:.

1. Open Regedit by going to Start and type "regedit" into the Search box.
2. Navigate to the directory in Regedit: HKEY_Local_Machine/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Tape
3. Double-click on **Persistence**.
4. Make sure that Persistence is set to "0" so that is disabled. If it is set to "1" it is still enabled.
5. Reboot your computer for the changes to take effect.
