Error 559 network connection timeout

This error may be reported if the network connection between the backup server and the client computer has timed out. This error can have many different causes, but you can start with changing the following settings in Retrospect to see if it helps prevent the error:

Macintosh

  1. Go to Retrospect Preferences (or settings) menu.
  2. Click on network.
  3. Click Advanced
  4. Change the network timeout value to 9000 seconds.

Windows

  1. Go to Configure>Clients. Click the Interfaces button at the top of the client database. Ctrl-I
  2. Edit the default interface and click Advanced
  3. Change the connection Timeout from 5 minutes to 90 minutes.
